In accordance with the provisions establishing RRRA, particularly LN 311 of 2020, the Government shall be monitoring, auditing and enforcing as necessary the Scheme through the Agency. RRRA shall be effectively exercising its regulatory role through established relationships and support of the Customs of Malta and the Commissioner for Revenue.

RRRA shall be working together with the Operator of the BCRS as well as other authorities to ensure that Producers and Importers follow the rules and regulations set out in the legal notice amongst others to ensure that objectives and targets are attained.

The regulations published on the 31st July 2020 also provide that if the relevant targets are not attained the Consortium would be subject to fines, as appropriate.
